What is OXY-Boost oxygen bleach made of? Sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate (soda ash).

What is sodium percarbonate?
Sodium per carbonate is a colorless, crystal with the chemical formula 2Na2CO3 · 3H2O2. It is an “oxidizing agent” that unleashes the cleaning power of oxygen. Simply put, sodium percarbonate puts the OXY in OXY-Boost.

What makes OXY-Boost the best oxygen based bleach? Many of those other Oxy brands dilute their bleaches with more soda ash or other fillers. It's cheaper that way, sure, but nowhere near as effective. Natural Choices OXY-boost is ultra-concentrated, with up to 2x the Sodium Percarbonate compared to some of the other oxy booster brands. Plus, OXY-boost has no added fragrances that can trigger allergies.

How does OXY-Boost oxygen bleach work? When OXY-Boost is activated with water, the sodium percarbonate breaks down and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is released. That hydrogen peroxide is the same stuff your mom used to kill germs- and guess what? It still works! Hydrogen peroxide disinfectant is still used to kill all kinds of germs including E. coli and Staph aureus. Once the H2O2 is released, it is very unstable and continues to break down to water and a reactive oxygen radical. It is that oxygen radical that attacks organic stains and odors, breaking them apart and completely dissolving them.

your product has worked great for us, however the latest change in packaging-from plastic jug to plastic envelope-didn't work out well for us.  Our shipment of 2 x 5.5 lb "packages" arrived with one burst open and spread throughout the packing box.  I have several of the empty containers this product formerly came in, so was able to transfer to them, but would really like to request either better cushioning of the current packaging or return to the more robust former containers...jvb

I wanted to stop using chlorine bleach.  This product seems to be filling the bill nicely.
