Natural Choices’ Rain Saver Rain Barrels were originally used for storing our “green” and “environmentally friendly” raw materials and products used in our business. Instead of sending empty drums to a land fill to become part of the garbage pollution issue, we are now offering them to our customers at nominal cost to help promote recycling!
Collected rain water is most often used for watering gardens but can also
be used for filling bird baths, washing your car, moping your floors or
in some communities you can use it in your toilet.
Each drum holds up to 55 gallons of rain water.
The rain barrels are made from thick and durable polyethylene and are built to last many years.
Each drum has been thoroughly cleaned and rinsed before being made into rain barrels.
Every time it rains your get fresh untreated chlorine free water to use in your garden, bird bath, pond or for any other outside household needs.
Each drum also contains an overflow port which can be used to divert excess water when the drum is filled to another barrel or for different use.

Each Rain Barrel Kit Includes:
- One clean 55 gallon polyethylene drum (Dimensions) with Overflow Port attached and threaded bung plug for attachment of the Water Shut-Off Valve
- An assembled Water Shut-off Valve for controlling water flow and piping for attachment to the threaded bung plug
- One Downspout Adapter for attachment to the top of the barrel
Instructions For Assembly of The Rain Barrel
- Make sure the stand you set the barrel on is level and safe. Cinder blocks, 4 x4 or larger wood beams of large patio blocks make good stands for the barrel.
- Screw assembled shut-off valve into threaded bung on drum
- Insert downspout adapter into the top of the barrel
(note - you may want to want to attach the flexible piping directly from the downspout to the cut out hole directly in the top of the barrel and not use the downspout adapter. First cut off the rectangular portion of the pipe and fit the round end into the hole.
For attachment of your downspout to the barrel you can purchase a flexible downspout connector (see image below) or downspout diverter piping. Flexible hosing can also be used to channel excess water from the overflow port when the drum is full. See image below)
