Company Background
For those of you who are not familiar with our story: Natural Choices was founded in 1995 by Catherine. She began to market her own environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products as alternatives to the harsh and toxic products available on store shelves as well as to replace the ineffective "safe" products she was finding. Her 10 years R&D laboratory, formulating and technical testing experience, combined with Marion's chemistry background, enabled Natural Choices to offer a variety of products. The Natural Choices product line has expanded each year offers the most complete & growing line of quality oxygen bleach cleaners available anywhere! We also have premium vegetable based product lines which are geared toward consumers with chemical sensitivities, but is effective enough for everyone to use.
During the first 5 years in operation, business continued to grow in the internet and retail markets with further expansions into health and whole foods stores as well as internet and catalog stores. Increased product offerings, custom formulating services, and a growing customer base enabled Natural Choices to move into a larger facility in 2001, after having been a home-based business for 6 years.
In February of 2008 Natural Choices was acquired by and merged with Pacific Sands, Inc. Pacific Sands specializes in safer to use pool and spa products, so it seemed the perfect fit. Marion continues to work at Pacific Sands, which is located in Racine, WI, supporting the Natural Choices line of products. Marion is the technical director and Catherine has since retired to devote her energies in other areas.
Like Natural Choices the Pacific Sands staff is committed to offering our customers and distributors the highest quality products, support and service.
About Our Packaging
We get numerous questions about our packaging. Why is it so plain? Why is it plastic instead of cardboard? Why is it not as convenient as other brands?
The main reason is that we figure that you'd rather you pay for what's inside the package instead of what's on the outside. We keep our packaging costs low by:
- Using stock bottles and lids instead of fancy custom packages. We use plastic because it provides a better moisture barrier than cardboard - a critical factor when it comes to maintaining the product quality of oxygen bleach products.
- Infrequently changing the product labeling, thereby avoiding costs associated with printing a new screen each time the label is changed.
- We have recently begun to “re-brand” some of the Natural Choices products in order to compete in an ever growing market of “green” products.
We would rather continue to spend our resources on high quality ingredients and on the research and formulation of innovative new products than spend them on changing our packaging. We believe that we price our products fairly given what it costs us to produce them. Any increased costs of production would result in higher product prices to our customers. We hope that you agree that when it comes to cleaning products, just like with people, it's what's on the inside that counts!
